Today at a live event held in Los Angeles and simulcast at Gamescom, Cologne, Blizzard announced that the fifth World of Warcraft expansion Warlords of Draenor will launch worldwide on November 13th later this year.
Blizzard made the announcement through the unveiling of the opening cinematic for the expansion, which goes back to depict a pivotal moment in Warcraft history, setting the stage for the upcoming war and the events that follow within the expansion.
“Players will encounter an epic cast of legendary characters and a huge amount of content to explore in Warlords of Draenor,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “The countdown to the arrival of one of the greatest threats in Warcraft history has begun. We can’t wait to send everyone through the Dark Portal this November.”
World of Warcraft fans are able to go and pre-purchase Warlords of Draenor now over at www.warlords.com, selecting either the Digital Standard Edition which costs $49.99 or the Digital Deluxe Edition coming in at $69.99. For those who choose to pre-purchase either of these editions, they will also receive a level 90 character boost, allowing them to immediately level up any of their characters.
Along with the digital editions, Blizzard will also be offering a retail-exclusive Collector’s Edition for $89.99, which comes complete with a bundle of Warlords of Draenor goodies, including the digital bonus items from the digital deluxe edition, a full colour hardcover art book, a behind the scenes two-disc Blu-ray/DVD set, the CD soundtrack, and a Warlords of Draenor mouse mat.
