Tickets are selling out fast for The Levellers’ own festival, Beautiful Days. Taking place from 17th -19th August in the stunning Escot Park near Exeter, the festival has an exciting line-up including headliners The Hives, Manic Street Preachers and, of course, the folk legends themselves.
If Glastonbury is your jam but is just a bit too big, then give this little pup a try. It has a chilled out vibe and enough space to dance (or welly stomp if it rains), as well as wonderful food stalls, a fair and late night sessions at The Bimble Inn. You can sit around campfires, sharing rum with your besties whilst bubbles shimmer in the firelight, then dance until the sun comes up in The Little Big Top, giggling until you make it back to the warmth of your sleeping bag.
Having attended Beautiful Days for nearly 14 years, I would say it’s one of the best festivals the UK has to offer, and with an eclectic musical mix of punk, folk, dance and folk rock, there’s something for everyone. If the music isn’t up your street, just relax and soak up the summer atmosphere. As a family friendly festival, Beautiful Days has an array of children’s activities from bouncy castles and crafts to henna and face painting. And let’s not forget the annual kids vs. The Levellers football match.
This year’s Sunday theme is ‘A Riot Of Colour’, which sees the whole festival celebrate the final day in costume, a fond farewell to the wonderment that is Beautiful Days.
Tickets can be purchased from the official festival website. Or you can always spread the love by volunteering as a steward. See you in the fields my friends!
