Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I would like to welcome you to the ninth chapter of the greatest festival known to modern man, Boomtown. This festival holds the key to ultimate hedonism, so prepare to lose yourselves in the tales of citizenship and dictatorship.
Boomtown has just released its first set of acts, and this year is bigger and better than ever before. One of the main highlights from this year’s line-up is Toots and the Maytals, guaranteed to bring the sunshine out on the dullest of days with their reggae tunes such as ‘54-46 (That’s My Number)’ and ‘Pressure Drop’. Another highlight will be the wonderful MIA, who’s sure to be pumping out electro tunes fit for the sweaty civilians of Boomtown; I cannot wait to hear ‘Paper Planes’ live.Ska-maestros The Specials have signed up to join the Trenchtown community, skanking their way onto the stage with ‘Too Much Too Young’ and ‘Ghost Town’, whilst rap legends Cypress Hill and the 90’s hip-hoppers Arrested Development will also perform to make this a killer event.
Other acts for the 60,000 capacity Hampshire festival include Toddla T, Shy FX, Frank Turner and the legendary troubadour that is Beans on Toast. Add into that all the small intimate venues to help you go down the Boomtown rabbit hole, with their secret stages and discos (The Jobcentre is where it’s at) and you may just have the best festival of 2017.
Tickets for Chapter Nine are selling like wildfire, so don’t miss out.
