the hunger games catching fireTonight excited fans in the UK will finally be able to feast their eyes on the second instalment of The Hunger Games. Yes, Katniss and co are back with Catching Fire, which deals with the repercussions of Katniss and Peeta’s defiance in the first movie. Initial reviews have been favourable and let’s face it, it’s pretty damn hard to hate a movie with J-Law in. We can expect tons of action, a little romance, and a lot of dramz. What are you waiting for? Go book your tickets now!

If The Hunger Games isn’t your thing then why not try Robert De Niro’s latest film, The Family. Directed by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element) and produced by Martin Scorsese, the film centres on a retired mobster who moves to France with his family under the witness protection programme in order to escape the angry mafia. It’s billed as a dark comedy and, whilst it sounds a little on the samey side in terms of storyline, nobody does gangster better than De Niro and Scorsese.

If you’re inclined to avoid the cinema in favour of staying at home with junk food and central heating (who turned the thermostat down outside?!) then you’re outta luck this weekend. There’s not a huge amount to enjoy unless you’re yet to watch The Wolverine – and even then you might not find that the most exciting home entertainment. Your best bet is the romantic dramady Stuck In Love, released on Blu-ray and DVD on the 18th November. Starring Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly and a host of other pretty faces, it’s a charming little film that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. What could be better?

Have a great weekend movie-fans!
