Get the tissues out because this one’s going to be a tearjerker. The first trailer for Me Before You starring Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games) has dropped and it’s already got our hearts bursting.

Adapted from Jojo Moyes’ best-selling novel of the same name, the film follows Lou Clark (Clarke), a 26-year-old with a cheerful outlook but no direction who takes on a new job as a caregiver to Claflin’s wheelchair bound Will Traynor. After a rocky start, Clark becomes determined to crack through Will’s cynical exterior and show him that there’s still plenty to live for.

From this first glimpse it looks like Me Before You is an incredibly faithful adaptation, a result of Moyes writing the screenplay herself. Talking about the film on her Facebook page she described it as being “about as close to the book as we could get without actually pasting pages of it onto the screen”. That’s what we like to hear!

Clarke is just adorable as quirky Lou, bouncing off Claflin’s Will with an easy chemistry. We’ve already seen great things from these two, so they’re bound to bring both laughter and sobs in this romantic drama.

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the film also stars Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) and Matthew Lewis (Ripper Street). It will hit UK screens on June 3, 2016.
