Universal Channel have released a trailer for Bates Motel ahead of its return on Wednesday 1st April. The third season of the Psycho prequel will find Norman (Freddie Highmore) struggling to stay in denial about his violent tendencies and the lengths he is prepared to go to in order to protect his family. ITV have renewed hit period drama Mr Selfridge for a fourth series, also announcing that Sacha Dawan (In The Club) would be joining the cast as a series regular.
The first pictures have been released for BBC Three’s new fantasy series Tatau. Written by Richard Zajdlic (By Any Means) it follows Kyle, a backpacker in the Cook Islands, who discovers that his new Maori tattoo has allowed him to foresee a girl’s murder. The series stars Joe Layton (Father Brown) and Theo Barklam-Biggs (Silk).
Filming is about to begin on the third series of Jed Mercurio’s Line of Duty and Daniel Mays (Common) has been announced as a major new character. The third season will see the police anti-corruption unit called in to investigate when the unpredictable behaviour of an Armed Response officer (Mays) begins to threaten his co-workers and civilians.
Despite a shaky second season, Fox have renewed Sleepy Hollow for a third season, with Clifton Campbell (The Glades) taking over as showrunner after the departure of Mark Goffman.
Syfy have also renewed 12 Monkeys for a second season, with co-producers Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett stepping in as showrunners.
Another name has been added to the cast of the upcoming The Flash/Arrow spin-off series, with Dominic Purcell (Prison Break) set to reprise his role as DC character, Heat Wave. Purcell joins a cast which already includes fellow Prison Break star Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber (Alias), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Caity Lotz (Mad Men).
