Good news, Game of Thrones fans – Sky Atlantic have announced that they will simulcast the fourth season premiere of the HBO series, airing it at the same time as it is broadcast on the East Coast of the US. But you’d best set your alarm clocks as this means that the opening episode will be shown at 2am on Monday 7th April, before it is then repeated in its usual 9pm slot.
ITV are in a giving mood this week with not one, but two trailers for upcoming shows. First we have Prey, a three-part crime drama starring Jon Simm (Life on Mars) and written by newcomer Chris Lunt. It tells the story of DC Marcus Farrow (Simm), a respected officer whose world is turned upside down when he is suspected of a terrible attack. But when his prison transport van is caught in an accident, he seizes the opportunity to escape and clear his name. The serial will air later in 2014.
Next we have Undeniable starring Claire Goose (Mount Pleasant), Peter Firth (Spooks) and Pippa Haywood (Scott & Bailey). Written by Chris Lang, the two part thriller follows a woman who believes she has found the man who killed her mother twenty three years ago. However, she must work to convince the police of the truth and discover what really happened all those years ago. The first episode will be shown at 9pm on Monday 7th April.
Ryan Murphy confirmed that the fourth season of American Horror Story would be subtitled Freak Show and is set to take place in a circus in 1950s Florida. Series regulars Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters and Angela Bassett are all set to return along with newcomer Michael Chiklis (The Shield).
The History Channel announced that its scripted drama series, Vikings, would be returning for a third season. Dirk Hoogstra, Executive Vice President and General Manager of History and H2 said of the renewal, “With its large, passionate and loyal fan base, Vikings has cemented History firmly in the scripted series genre, just as we are the leaders in reality television”.
And finally, Fox have released the first full trailer for 24: Live Another Day. The trailer teases the day to come, with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) in London and on the run from the CIA, whilst also trying to prevent an assassination attempt on the US President.
