It was a festive trailer bonanza this week, with a host of new and exciting trailers giving us a glimpse of next year’s (and the follow year’s) big releases.

In Trailers:

Hot Tub Time Machine joins Horrible Bosses in the league of questionable sequels, and this week released it’s first trailer. John Cusack does not reprise his role as the remorseful Adam, but all other original characters are back with the addition of Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott, and Community actress Gillian Jacobs. The sequel will be released in February next year.

The first full-length trailer for Inside Out also hit sites this week. Starring Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader, the latest instalment from Pixar sees the characterisation of the emotions felt by a little girl. The animation will come to the UK in July 2015.

The most talked about trailer this week came from Mad Max: Fury Road. With George Miller reprising his title of director, the extended look at next year’s remake shows a manic future for mankind, with Max defying his title as possibly the sanest character in the film. Charlize Theron and an unrecognisable Nicholas Hoult co-star, and the film will be released in May 2015.

With the Hunger Games hype settling down after the release on Mockingjay – Part One, the young adult audiences enjoyed the first trailer for Insurgent, the next chapter in the Shailene Woodley led Divergent franchise. Woodley returns as the defiant Beatrice, along with Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz and British actor Theo James. Expect Insurgent in March 2015.

The Golden Globes:

The Golden Globes got the awards season rolling this week with its nomination announcements. The Brits will enjoy a strong year in 2015 at the awards, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones and Emily Blunt just some of the nominees. Strong contenders also include Birdman, which received seven nominations including Best film, comedy or musical and Best Actor, and Foxcatcher, which sees Steve Carrell and Mark Rufallo nominated for their roles. The show will air in America on January the 15th and will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
