The Revenant – Teaser Poster

The Revenant, director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s ambitious follow-up to his Oscar hit Birdman, follows explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio), a man betrayed and left for dead, and his subsequent attempts at survival. The Revenant Teaser One SheetThe teaser trailers have received widespread praise for arresting, immersive cinematography and spectacular landscapes. The newly released poster is equally as striking, depicting a bleak, blue-toned snow-capped scene, with a figure on a horse barely distinguishable in the foreground. The word ‘revenant’ means, the poster tells the viewer ominously ‘one who has returned, as if from the dead.’

The poster favours simplicity over flashiness, and interesting chooses not to list details of the cast, which includes Tom Hardy alongside DiCaprio, preferring instead to let the visuals do the talking. The Revenant is released by Fox in the UK on 15 January 2016.
