The Cornish hedgerows are in full bloom, the sun is beginning to shine and the glitter has just about vanished from last year, which can mean only one thing: It’s time for the Porthleven Masked Ball.

The Ball opens on Friday 26 May with a feast and carries on throughout the weekend. And if you buy a Saturday ticket this year you automatically have entry on Sunday for free. Bring on the ballers!

2017’s event is bringing with it new stages, trannies, strippers and HOT TUBS! It’s also heading back to its roots by cutting capacity and lowering prices; it may seem crazy but it could just mean that you can afford to go and fit into the main stages this year.

The Underworld area has been years in the making. You can lose yourself in a Brixton Squat in the 80’s, travel to a 1940’s Chicago blues club or even dance it out in a 70’s New York disco. Mixing up reggae, disco, hip-hop and boogie-woogie, this new area seems to be where it’s at.The Gramophone is another new stage; a gigantic gramophone pumping out house and techno tunes until the early hours. What could be better?

This year’s line-up includes Hot Chip, Horse Meat Disco and Shit Robot amongst many more.

The Summer Masked Ball takes place from Friday 26 May to Sunday 28 May, at Beacon Crag, Porthleven, Cornwall.

Tickets for the full weekend, including the Friday feast, are now on sale at £69. Original Masked Ball Saturday to Monday festival tickets including camping are £55.
