After weeks of speculation and anticipation worthy of an epic theatrical release, the eighty eight second first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has landed, and if social media is anything to be believed, it does not disappoint.
As with everything Star Wars related, not much is revealed in terms of story. What we do get is a pulsating series of shots introducing us to the new leads John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, a nifty roller droid, an insanely cool looking new lightsaber and the Millennium Falcon doing what it does best, all set to John Williams’ swooning score.
If you weren’t excited before, you’ll probably be excited now. The only problem is, there’s a whole year to wait before the film is released.
As far as teaser trailers go, this was one of the best for a long time, and not just because it’s Star Wars. It does enough to convey the tone and scope of the film without going into heavy details on story and characters as so many trailers seem to do these days (looking at you Cinderella).
There’s really no point in me writing anything else, as you’ve all probably devoured the trailer numerous times by now.
Not sure about you, but December 2015 seems very, very far away.
