– As recently reported by us, it has been confirmed that Rupert Grint is to make his West End debut. Starring in Jez Butterworth’s Mojo, the Harry Potter star will share the casting alongside Ben Whishaw, Daniel Mays and Brendan Coyle. The play, directed by Sir Ian Rickson, delves into the seedy Soho underworld of the 1950’s with a rock and roll backdrop.
– Les Dennis and Warwick Davis have both been cast in Spamalot, which has been running since November of last year. The duo, who featured together on Life’s Too Short, will only play their roles for a limited amount of time at the Playhouse theatre. Dennis plays King Arthur from the 3rd Aug to 2nd Nov 2013 and Davis will play Patsy from 23rd Sep to 19th Oct 2013. They’ll both be joined by Bonnie Langford who continues in her role as Lady of the Lake. The show is still taking bookings until later this year.
– Rumours are floating around in the West End district that Hollywood icon Angela Lansbury is set to return to the London stage after a forty-year hiatus. The multi award-winning actress previously trod the boards over here in the 1970’s in Hamlet and is said to be considering a return. Lansbury, only one of a handful of octogenarians still in the acting business, had this to say about her possible return to London. “I am hopefully going to be going to London to recreate my role in Blithe Spirit of Madame Arcati. We’ve both got long range plans, which will take me almost to 90.“
