Longbow Games’ historical strategy game, Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar will soon be leaving Steam Early Access, for its final release available via digital download on the 15th of May and as a boxed retail version from May 30th.
A limited version of Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar has been available to play through Steam Early Access, allowing players to gain access to several of the campaign chapters, to test out new features of the game as they got implemented and the opportunity to offer their feedback on what they would like to see within the game. This has allowed the developers over at Longbow Games the chance to improve on the existing mechanics, implement fixes , and take on board new ideas suggested by the community.
Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar, sequel to the critically acclaimed Hegemony Gold, tells the story of Julius Caesar as he wages a decade long war to subjugate the barbarian hordes of ancient Gaul. Players will be able to explore a detailed and immersive world spanning over one million square kilometers of historic 1st century BC landscape. With changing seasons and rapidly changing military situations, Hegemony Rome will test the player’s ability to command, to think tactically and to create a strategy that will see them victorious.
The full release of Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar will include all four of the campaign chapters, portraying the conquests of Julius Caesar as he wrote them in Commentarii de Bello Gallico, along with a sandbox mode, where players can take charge of up to a dozen factions in an attempt to conquer the whole map from Britannia to the Mediterranean coast. The game also utilises the series trademark zoom, to seamlessly take you from a grand strategic view of your empire right down to the fighting on the battlefield.
