Focus Home Interactive and developer HESAW have launched Blue Estate, a darkly funny first person on-rails shooter, available now in Europe and North America on the PS4, via the PlayStation Store.
Based on Victor Kalvachev’s Eisner Award-nominated comic book series, Blue Estate lets players play as homicidal maniac and son of LA’s crime boss Don Luciano, Tony Luciano, along with broke ex-navy seal, Clarence. In an attempt to get back his kidnapped “Helen of Troy”, Tony wages a bloody violent war against the Sik gang, with Clarence following in his wake, cleaning up Tony’s mess and trying to put an end to the war against ever increasing odds.
Designed specifically to take advantage of the DualShock 4’s gyroscopic features, Blue Estate offers an intuitive control system. “You basically point the controller and squeeze the trigger; you don’t ever have to use the joysticks,” said Victor Kalvachev. “For all the gestures we’re using the touch pad, which gives the opportunity for unique gameplay experiences, depending on how players choose to hold and interact with the controller.”
Blue Estate also features the opportunity for a second player to join through a cooperative mode.
The game is available now over on the PlayStation Store for only £15.99, with PlayStation Plus members receiving a special 20% off discount.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive have confirmed that an Xbox One version of Blue Estate is in development, that will use the Kinect for its motion-based aiming system, however a release date is yet to be announced.
