With a back catalogue of belters like Mr Brightside, Smile Like You Mean It and Miss Atomic Bomb everyone knows The Killers. Arriving back on the scene with Shot At The Night, produced by M83’s Anthony Gonzalez and featuring on their Direct Hits album, what’s favourable about this band is how their sound constantly evolves as the years go on – this time into the synth-pop style. This video in itself visualises the lyrics, featuring a spontaneous relationship igniting, surrounded by the bright lights of the band’s home city of Las Vegas portraying how love at first sight can exist at the most unexpected of times.
12 years on and this four-piece who have a special place in so many hearts and music collections have arrived back on the scene with an epic record that holds a hell of a lot of passion. The video itself takes you through ‘a night’ of fun, frolics and flirtation. The transformation of a timid hotel maid to a gorgeous confident young woman in a night, thanks to a brief glance at a handsome young man crossing the road, is just like a modern day Cinderella story.
The video is an exhilarating reminder to just enjoy life, as well as the laughs and relationships, to not take anything too seriously and pretty much just take that ‘shot’, whatever it is… think about the consequences later!
