New data from the DCMS showed that the creative industries (including music, art, film, television and theatre) are earning a whopping 8 million pounds an hour and accounted for 1.68 million jobs in 2012.
These industries are worth 71.4 billion per annum which makes them 1% above the UK service industry as a whole.
The UK’s creative industries, especially music, are renowned across the globe for driving growth. Just think about the bands that we export all over the world and how they manage to get number ones in many countries globally.
Keep doing what you’re creative industries and you might be able to get us out of this recession single handedly!
