The last headliner for Glastonbury 2014 has been announced. This year metal makes an appearance on the pyramid stage as Metallica are announced as the final headliner. The band will play on the Saturday night, following Arcade Fire’s headline set on the Friday.
This news has caused mixed reactions amongst Glasto goers as metal has very rarely been on the bill. Michael Eavis, founder of Glastonbury, has said that he has tried to book Metallica in previous years, yet this will be the first year they have accepted.
This could show a new diversity in future line-ups, which is a great way of making the festival appealing to a wider range of music lovers. What do you think of this news? Are you happy about Metallica making the line-up?
