English indie-rockers alt-J have announced that they will be performing at London’s O2 arena on January 24th 2015.

Tickets for the gig go on sale at 9AM next Wednesday (20th August).

The news comes after the announcement of a full UK tour throughout September.

There is wide anticipation that the group’s biggest headline slot to date will sell out in record time after their show at London’s Alexandra Palace sold out in under ten minutes.

After taking the world by storm last year with ‘An Awesome Wave’, the Cambridge art-rock quartet are currently preparing for the release of their second album This is all Yours on 22nd September.

The band, who formed in 2007, have already made the first two tracks from the new album, ‘Hunger Of The Pine’ and ‘Left Hand Free’, available for download.

alt-J’s music combines folk-inflected vocals, dubstep rhythms and acoustic folk whilst using a modern indie rock template.

What makes them stand out from the crowd is their ability to innovate that combination and template into a genre almost entirely unique and undefinable.

alt-J will play:

Glasgow O2 Academy (September 18)

Manchester Apollo (19,20)

Wolverhampton Civic Hall (22)

Brighton Centre (23)

London Alexandra Palace (24)

Dublin O2 Arena (27)
