It’s the first week of 2014 and all the music media has been full of the predicted trends of the year. Our music scene is whizzing it’s way back to before the millennium, way back when Oasis and Blur were in their prime (we wont talk about The Spice Girls as they don’t really count).

The last time this happened a new phenomenon known as Brit-Pop occurred and that was only because of the hard times in the 90’s so we all looked back to a better ‘Golden’ age of the 1960’s. The question is whether this time it’s because of the recession or is it because we now think of the 90’s as a better time than now?

At any rate the theory is that we are going to be inundated with guitar music and hopefully some new genres will pop up ready to challenge what we now think of as music. Bring on the fray, lets get guitars back on top.
