Autumn is fast approaching in Australia and, for those of us who love the festival and party season, it’s hard to let go. But what if I was to tell you that there’s an old 1940’s Wool Store that is about to be decked out to the nines for a big warehouse party?

On Saturday 18 May The Wool Store in West Footscray (Melbourne) will be hosting its second event paying homage to the European Warehouse rave scene. Last year hundreds of ravers kitted out in faux fur coats, dungarees, flares and crop tops headed to West Footscray to stomp their feet to infamous DJ Solomun; I was lucky enough to work the bar (who let me finish a few hours early to enjoy myself). The big space is a spectacle in itself, with giant circles dangling from the ceiling which put on a beautiful light show.

Coming to this year’s event is Welsh DJ Jamie Jones who’s big in the Techno House scene and is a two time DJ Award winner. Known for his esteemed residency at DC10 in Ibiza and for being at the forefront of the Paradise parties (which now reach every corner of the globe), he’s bound to bring the party with him, and what better place to party than with a Melbourne crowd?

Joining Jamie on the line-up is Meggy – an accomplished German DJ, vocalist and songwriter who has served up incredible sets at some of the most well respected clubs in her native Berlin.

The event will also have a garden area providing a space for local art and a small food market.

Tickets are on sale now and if I were you, I’d grab one to experience this wonderful spectacle.
