In a sea of comedies that star women and are almost exclusively concerned with dating and romantic relationships, any deviation from the norm feels like a breath of fresh air. After The Heat left a crowd of women crying out for more, we find ourselves with The Other Woman.

The film stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton who are all being led on and lied to – by the same man. Instead of competing for his affections, as a lesser film would have them do, the three become friends and form a pact to take him down. Though we’ve seen Leslie Mann in other comedies plenty of times, it’s wonderful to see Cameron Diaz devoting her efforts to this genre rather than the bland, dime-a-dozen romantic comedies we’ve seen her feature in before.

It’s also kind of surreal to see Jaime Lannister in a romantic comedy, but with Nikolaj-Coster Waldau’s natural charm it doesn’t seem like it’ll be hard to get used to.

The Other Womam hits cinemas the 23rd of April.
