With fans asking to see more of the upcoming Battlefield Hardline, Visceral Games has replied with the release of footage showing off the new Hotwire multiplayer game mode, along with some handy tips to help you succeed whilst burning some rubber.
In a post on the Battlefield website Thad Sasser, Lead Designer on Battlefield Hardline, outlines the objective of this new game mode saying,
“Whether you’re the Cops or the Criminals, the goal is to get to the marked cars and drive fast! Driving a marked car causes you to begin to bleed the enemy team’s tickets – so make sure you hang onto the ride and continue to drive.”
Battlefield fans will be excited to hear that that’s not the only way to gain points in Hotwire. Finally fans have a reason to pull off as many stunts and jumps as possible, going off road, up ramps and getting into even more crazy antics. The more air you get, the more tickets you bleed.
Visceral games are also including something for the Veteran Battlefield fans out there with the return of the Tracking Dart that first made an appearance in Battlefield Bad Company 2. By attaching one of these darts to an enemy player or vehicle, your whole team will be able to see where they are, track them down and take them out. The tracking darts will also act as a lock on target, allowing players to lock on with RPG’s and rockets with ease.
“You can’t outrun a rocket! Well, maybe you can, but it’s not easy.”
Sesser also hints at a way of sabotaging the vehicles around the map stating, “Putting sabotage on a car is a pretty sneaky move. Putting sabotage on a marked car? Well, that’s just downright mean. Ensure that what’s yours stays yours – or no one’s!” Unfortunately no more details are given on this new feature.
With the release date of Battlefield Hardline now pushed back until early 2015, we’ll hopefully see Visceral release a few more teasers and game details to keep us hooked until the launch finally arrives.
