So, here is this month’s band of the month in the form of unique ‘one-woman band’ Abi Wade. Brighton’s own Abi Wade has already got a pretty promising line-up this summer. Festivals such as The Great Escape, Leefest, Wilderness and Lamar Tree Festival will be welcoming her along with regular appearances at venues across Brighton and London. Her rare talent of being able to play multiple instruments at one time along with her distinctive folk inspired voice makes for a colossal wall of melodic and bass driven sound. This is not your average pretty voice with a guitar though.

Having supported Patrick Wolfe across Europe, the cello-playing songstress has received rave reviews from local press as well as radio airplay on stations such as Resonance FM. Currently signed to Love Thy Neighbor Music, Abi Wade has recently released EP ‘And Blood And Air’ and is in the process of making her first music video. As one of Brighton’s most enticing new acts, venues such as The Green Door Store have become her own, as well as unique covers of songs by fellow Brighton lads, The Maccabees.  Catch her at The Unitarian Church in Brighton on June 7th to experience this fantastic live act.
