This year’s Camden Rocks festival is set to be the biggest yet with a cracking line-up featuring Skindred, New Model Army, Little Comets and Funeral for a Friend. Festival-goers can expect to hear everything from punk and rock to indie and metal at the single day, multiple-venue event which will take place on Saturday 30 May. As we count down the days until the end of the month, here are five acts you should catch live at this year’s Camden Rocks.

5. The Twang

Camden Rocks is a hugely diverse music event, and this year will see indie band The Twang performing at the festival. Following the release of their latest album, Neontwang, indie rock fans will be able to sing-along to the Birmingham band’s catchy songs when they take to the stage on the 30th.

4. New Model Army

Post-punk band New Model Army are set to play the 420 capacity Jazz Café, with fans getting a chance to see the 1980’s band in an up-close and intimate venue. Expect plenty of head banging and frenzied mosh-pits at this New Model Army gig, so get there early to secure your place at the front.

3. Turbowolf

Following their brilliant performance at last year’s festival, Turbowolf are returning to Camden to put on another rocking gig. The band has had a fantastic year, with a recent support slot on the last Royal Blood tour. Frontman Chris Georgiadis will no doubt be jumping into the crowd and bringing his excellent showmanship to the stage again this year – don’t miss it.

2. The Graveltones

Another band already familiar with the festival are The Graveltones, who are set to delight fans with their blues-rock sound for another year running. The two-piece will be bringing a raw and energetic live set to Camden, playing new material from their soon to be released album, Love Lies Dying.

1. Sonic Boom Six

Our number one pick for this year’s Camden Rocks is five-piece Sonic Boom Six. One of the latest additions to the ever-growing line-up, these genre-mixing party-lovers know how to put on a show. This year, however, Sonic Boom Six will showcase a different side to their sound by playing a low-key set. The five-piece, fronted by singer Laila K, state that they will be featuring ‘a more stripped down version’ of the classic Boom songs.

Special Mention

The Camden Rocks 2015 secret headliner – which was revealed today – will be Bullet For My Valentine. If you’re a rock fan, that’s reason enough to grab a ticket for this year’s event. Tickets are available from the festival website.
