FX have released a teaser for the second season of Fargo, and they’re really not giving much away. We’re talking a woodpecker, some snow and some big bangs. Titled ‘Peck, Peck, Boom, Boom’, the clip is our first taste of season 2, which will be set in 1979 and will air later on in the year. New cast members include Patrick Wilson (Insidious), Ted Danson (CSI), Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad).

ITV have announced that a Prime Suspect sequel titled Tennison is in the works. The six-part series will follow a young Jane Tennison (played by Helen Mirren in the original crime-drama) at the start of her career. It will be set in East London in the 70’s and will air next year in celebration of Prime Suspect‘s 25th anniversary. Original scribe Lynda La Plante is on board to pen the new series but the role of Tennison is yet to be cast.

Fans of Showtime’s Ray Donovan were treated to the official trailer for season three this week, which gave a first look at guest stars Katie Holmes and Ian McShane. Holmes will be playing businesswoman Paige Finney, with McShane starring as her billionaire father who wants to hire Ray for his questionable services. Season three is expected to premiere in the UK in July.

Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith and Wolf Hall‘s Claire Foy will star in Netflix’s original series The Crown. The decades-spanning drama is based on Peter Morgan’s play The Audience, and is about Queen Elizabeth II and the prime ministers who helped to shape post-war Britain. Smith will star as Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, while Foy will step into the role of the Queen. Also joining them will be John Lithgow as Winston Churchill. The Crown will air as a ten-part series in 2016.

Finn Wittrock, who starred as spoilt psychopath Dandy Mott in American Horror Story: Freakshow, is returning to the anthology series for its fifth season. Series producer Ryan Murphy revealed that Wittrock will be “checking into HOTEL” on twitter, and it’s thought he will be involved in a love triangle with Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer’s characters. AHS: Hotel will begin filming shortly and will launch in America in October. The UK air date should follow soon after.
