– A key character from the fourth series of Game of Thrones has been cast, with Pedro Pascal (The Good Wife) taking on the fan favourite role of Oberyn Martell, also known as The Red Viper. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss described the character as, “sexy and charming, yet believably dangerous” and that with the Chilean actor, Pascal, they had, “found a fellow who can handle the job description and make it seem effortless”.
– Sky Atlantic have released the first glimpses of their upcoming Ian Fleming biopic, Fleming, starring Dominic West as the famous author. The four part drama, made in partnership with BBC America, is set to be shown in 2014 and co-stars Lara Pulver (Sherlock) as Anne O’Neill, a hugely influential woman in the Bond creator’s life, along with Annabelle Wallis, Lesley Manville, Anna Chancellor, Samuel West and Rupert Evans. – AMC’s latest drama, Low Winter Sun, starring Mark Strong, has received a UK airdate and will be shown from 10pm on Friday 16th August on FOX. The show tells the story of a Detroit police officer who kills another cop and was written by Criminal Minds’ creator, Chris Mundy, based on a British series of the same name.
– It has been announced that Stephen Merchant’s HBO comedy series, Hello Ladies, will be shown on Sky Atlantic this autumn. The series tells the pseudo-biographical story of a 6’7” Englishman looking for love among the beautiful women of Los Angeles and stars The Office scribe, Merchant, along with Christine Woods, Nate Torrence and Kevin Weisman. It will run alongside the second series of Armando Ianucci’s Veep.
