The battle of the Jungle Books is well underway, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale announced as joining the cast of Andy Serkis’ Jungle Book: Origins. Cumberbatch, whose vocal talents landed him the role of Smaug in The Hobbit trilogy, will be voicing the elusive Shere Khan, while Bale will take the role of Bagheera. Blanchett will play the villainous Kaa for the film, which will be released in October 2016.

The Cornetto Trilogy may have met its apocalyptic conclusion with The World’s End, but the bond between Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright is far from over as they announced a new project is in the works. Plot details have been kept very quiet, but the collaboration marks a second step back in time, as Pegg revealed that he and Nick Frost will be playing their characters from Shaun of the Dead in a Halloween special of the popular cartoon Phineas and Ferb.
