Last week saw the announcement that The Libertines are reuniting (yes that’s with Pete too) to headline one of the Barclaycard British Summer Time gigs at Hyde Park on July 5th.
This will be the biggest gig that the band have played since Reading and Leeds 2010. Also joining The Libertines will be The Pogues, Spiritualized, The Enemy and Maximo Park. It just keeps getting better and better.
In an interview with the Independent, co-frontman Carl Barat said that the band will be coming up with new material for the event and that he and Pete will be jamming very soon.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (2nd May) at a price of £55 and, by the look of the hype being created by the reunion, they’re likely to sell out quickly.
