gone-girl– It has been confirmed after much speculation that Sam Mendes will return to direct Bond 24. The studio agreed to fit the Bond 24 schedule around Mendes’ existing commitments with Charlie And The Chocolate Factory in the theatre. The follow-up to Skyfall is expected in 2015.

– Jeff Wadlow, Hollywood’s go-to guy for penning comic superhero movies, has reportedly been working on an adaptation of the X-Force comics for a potential Fox movie in the future. Wadlow’s latest project comes off the back of his recent screenplay for Kick-Ass 2.

– It’s been a good month for films NOT bombing, with World War Z gaining box office success after it was widely expected to sink like a stone. The latest film to do better than expected has been Pacific Rim, which has reported opening weekend sales better than expected. It finished Friday ranked number two with $14.6 million.

– Zachary Quinto expects filming on Star Trek 3 to begin sometime next year. After the huge success of Star Trek: Into Darkness, Paramount Pictures seem pretty keen to capitalise on the popularity and supply a sequel. Question marks are still over whether J.J. Abrams will be involved. It is thought he is interested but would in all likelihood clash with his commitments to Star Wars Episode VII.

– Vin Diesel has been spinning the rumour mill with his revelation that he has had a successful meeting with Marvel. Posing with a vintage Avengers poster outside the Marvel offices, it is likely Diesel has nabbed a part in the forthcoming Avengers sequel.

– David Fincher has suggested Ben Affleck could be his lead actor in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s bestseller Gone Girl. He is currently in talks, whilst opposite him Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron are all in contention.

– Barry Pepper has joined the cast of Kill The Messenger. He will star alongside Jeremy Renner.

– Johnny Depp is believed to be in final negotiations with Disney for Alice in Wonderland 2. The sequel will not be directed by Tim Burton but in his place is The Muppets director James Bobin. Depp has also been linked to Mortdecai as well.
