Imagine a festival on an estuary, with woodland, Italian style buildings and a swimming pool in front of one of the stages. Surely such a place cannot exist…but oh it does, and it’s about to take place this month.
Located in the beautiful village of Portmeirion, Festival Number 6 is one of my favourite events of the year. With amazing cocktails, a stage in the woods, wonderful scenery, watching comedy from deck chairs and the town itself, this is the festival to end the summer with.
This year’s line-up comprises of Bloc Party, The Flaming Lips and Mogwai, as well as Laura Mvula, The Cribs and Jagwar Ma. And if the music doesn’t tickle your fancy, why not join one of the masterclasses or just meander around the town seeing what you can find in the many nooks and crannies. I hear the food is pretty good too.
For those poshos amongst us who disagree with tent life, you can even hire your own house for the weekend and have somewhere nice and dry to hide out in. There’s really no excuse to not experience this one of a kind festival.
Tickets are still available and it really would be the cherry topper on 2017’s festival season.
