Ubisoft opened their E3 press conference with the opening to Far Cry 4. The cinematic video shows the main character arriving into the Himalayan region of Kyrat via a packed bus. However as the bus pulls up to a guarded checkpoint, things begin to turn south.
With gunfire breaking out and bullets and glass flying everywhere, the main protagonist crawls to the back of the bus in an attempt to escape. The scene soon settles as Pagan Min, the blonde haired villain featured on the game’s front cover, emerges from a landing helicopter to restore order to the chaos.
Later at Sony’s E3 press briefing another video was released this time focusing on gameplay, featuring a 2 player co-operative mode. The footage featured the use of new weapons including a grappling hook, crossbow and C4, along with new methods of transport including a wing suite and gyrocopter.
An announced was also made concerning a new PlayStation only feature for the PS3 and PS4, where players with the game can invite their PSN friends to join and play even if they don’t own the game. Co-op mode will begin seamlessly as a friend joins your game, however upon entering co-op mode all single player missions will be turned off with only the open world remaining.
Far Cry 4 is set to release on November 18th in North America and November 21th in Europe on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
